On November 6, 2008, Fitch Ratings hosted its Transportation Forum in New York, NY. Slides are available in the resources column to the right.
The global credit markets are currently facing unprecedented challenges. The transportation sector is dealing with a significant reduction in activity at airports and on toll roads.
This forum will focus on credit views relative to airports and toll roads in the U.S. and Latin America. Perspectives from the sovereign team will provide a Fitch Ratings view on macro and credit trends in Latin America. The Fitch Ratings global infrastructure & project finance team will moderate a panel comprised of debt and equity investors.
Topics include the impact of the price of oil and the economic downturn on vehicle miles traveled, toll road and airport traffic and the effect of airline capacity reductions. The forum will also offer perspectives on the application of Fitch Ratings criteria relative to this downturn and prospects for recovery.
